ADA Compliance & Accessibility Statement
AndongKim.com is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards.
Our Commitment to All Learners
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and international digital accessibility initiatives require that web platforms provide equal access and opportunities to individuals with disabilities.
At AndongKim.com, accessibility is not an afterthought—it is foundational to how our phrase-first learning platform is architected. Language practice requires visual, auditory, cognitive, and physical interaction. We have designed our tools so that users with low vision, hearing variations, cognitive differences, motor challenges, or sensory sensitivities can customize their study environment to suit their individual needs.
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 / 2.2 Level AA standards across all interactive learning modules, table displays, and audio tools.
Accessibility Features Built into AndongKim.com
Explore the dedicated accommodations and tools available throughout the platform:
Every column features an independent font-size slider continuum scaling text up to 4.00rem. Users can also scale all text simultaneously with global stepping controls (A- / A+) and browser zoom up to 400% without loss of functionality.
Users can toggle between Clean Crisp White, eye-friendly Warm White/Ivory, and glare-free Classic Sepia, along with Standard, High Contrast, and Ultra Bold Black ink modes to accommodate low-vision and light-sensitive readers.
Dual native speaker recordings (Male and Female) are provided for every phrase. Speech playback speed can be continuously adjusted from 0.50× to 1.50×, accompanied by customizable loop repetitions for auditory processing reinforcement.
Every learning item presents Korean Hangul characters, English phonetic guides, English translations, grammatical breakdowns, and native audio pronunciation concurrently, ensuring accessibility across visual, auditory, and textual learning styles.
Learners can hide any non-essential columns (e.g. hide Romanization or hide English meanings) to create a focused, low-distraction interface tailored for neurodivergent individuals and focused memorization.
All interactive controls—including audio buttons, column toggles, topic filters, modal dialogues, and search bars—are fully accessible via keyboard navigation (Tab, Enter, Space, Esc) with explicit ARIA labels and focus indicators.
Technical Conformance & Best Practices
Our web engineering adheres to the four core principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG):
- Perceivable: High-contrast color palettes, scalable typography, multi-voice audio alternatives, and clear structural separation between content and controls.
- Operable: All functionality is accessible via keyboard, without keyboard traps or disruptive flashing/rapid animations.
- Understandable: Predictable navigation structure, clear labels, straightforward search filters, and consistent layouts across all pages.
- Robust: Valid HTML5 semantic tags (
<header>,<nav>,<main>,<table>,<footer>) tested across screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.
